Here’s how to transfer your save from Borderlands 3 on Stadia to PC on Steam or Epic.

To all those who played Borderlands 3 on Stadia, your Vault Hunter’s adventures can continue on Steam or Epic after Stadia is discontinued! Google’s Stadia platform is shutting down on January 18, 2023, but you can recover your Stadia save file for use on PC on Steam or Epic with this new Borderlands 3 Stadia Save Utility program (a Save Port-o-matic, if you will).

In order to utilize your Stadia save file on Steam or Epic, you will need to have already purchased and installed Borderlands 3 on the PC storefront you plan to play on. Here are step-by-step instructions on how to use the Borderlands 3 Stadia Save Utility tool; if you run into any issues, you can submit a ticket to 2K Support for further assistance.

1. Go to Google Takeout, check the box next to Stadia, then follow the instructions to export your save data as a ZIP file (you may need to wait for an email from Google with the export’s download link).
2. Download the Borderlands 3 Stadia Save Utility.
3. In the Borderlands 3 Stadia Save Utility program, choose either Steam or Epic Games Store from the PC Storefront drop-down menu.
4. Hit Browse to point the app to the ZIP file you downloaded from Google Takeout.
5. Press the Begin Port button.
   • If the app cannot auto-detect your save directory, you will be prompted to select it manually. Save files are typically located in your local “Documents\My Games\Borderlands 3\Saved\SaveGames\” folder, with each Steam or Epic account having its own unique identification label (a long string of numbers and letters).
6. Boot up the game on Steam/Epic and you should now see your characters from your transferred save file! Be aware that certain Steam Achievements may still be earned on your characters based on completing the requisite criteria again, but at this time, we can’t guarantee that Steam will register these Achievements consistently. All Steam Achievements can be earned with any new characters you create on Steam.
