No matter how good you feel about that collection of Vault Hunter Head cosmetics you've been amassing, the incontrovertible truth is that you've always got room for one more, right? We certainly hope so, because the reward for completing the Trials Community Challenge starting today is a glorious Guardian Head. Equip it, and you'll fool absolutely no one into believing that you're an ancient bio-mechanical defender of Eridian artifacts—but maybe they'll buy that you killed one and kept its noggin as a trophy. Who cares what they think anyway? You'll know that you look awesome.
To earn the Guardian Head cosmetic, you—along with the rest of the Borderlands 3 community—need to successfully complete a collective total of 30,000 Proving Grounds Trials. Every Proving Ground boss killed within the 30-minute time limit will count towards the community total, and we'll post occasional progress updates on the official Borderlands Twitter account.
In case you're unfamiliar with them, Proving Grounds Trials are endgame challenges that you can access after finishing the main Borderlands 3 campaign and subsequently activating Guardian Beacons found on Pandora, Promethea, Eden-6, and Nekrotafeyo. Each of the six Guardian Beacons unlocks a different Trial, and each Trial tasks you with clearing three zones of challenging enemies en route to a badass boss. Reach and defeat the boss in under 30 minutes and you get to unlock a loot-filled chest at the end—the contents of which will improve if you complete optional side missions along the way.
When 30,000 Trials have been completed, we’ll update this article with a SHiFT code that will grant the new Guardian Vault Hunter Head reward that can be equipped by all characters. You can redeem the revealed SHiFT code here on Borderlands.com, on the Gearbox SHiFT site, or via the in-game Social menu in Borderlands 3. Borderlands 3 and SHiFT account required to redeem. Each code may be redeemed once (1) per SHiFT account.
